Our business started in 2001 when our friends Tim and Kim asked us if we were interested in being involved in helping them sell their hand carved mahogany models.

Tim was running a patrol boat in Vietnam when the Americans decided to leave the country. He and the other crew members agreed to try and escape by reaching open sea. They took the boat to sea by way of the Saigon River by all the North Vietnamese tanks which lined were lined up along the river to prevent escapes. They flew a white flag and surprisingly none of the tanks fired at them. They were in open sea for days before being spotted by an American ship. Tim and two crew members survived to be rescued.

On reaching America after a few job changes, Tim ended up working for Boeing. When he retired he took plans and models back to Vietnam and established a business for his family and their friend in making these models. The business has been around for about six years and long enough for some to try and copy these works.

We are happy to be selling these models knowing that the proceeds help people who would otherwise not have a way of making a living.
